Current Week's Sermon

Scripture: Exodus 1: 15-22
Title: Equipped for the Chaos

Pharaoh had a plan to destroy God's people, but God had a greater plan to sustain them. In Exodus 1:15–22, we meet two Hebrew midwives named Shiphrah and Puah — women who stood at one of the most dangerous crossroads in all of Scripture. Pharaoh had commanded them to kill every Hebrew baby boy at birth, a royal decree issued by the most powerful ruler of their time. And yet these two women looked that command in the face and chose to fear God instead. What happened next would change the course of a nation.

What makes this passage so quietly powerful is the detail Scripture gives us. God saw what they did. He saw that they let the boys live. He saw their courage when they were questioned by Pharaoh and held their ground. And because they honored God in the middle of chaos — when it would have been far easier to comply — God honored them in return. He blessed them with families of their own. Their names are recorded in Scripture for all eternity. Two women who could have been forgotten chose obedience over convenience, and God made sure the world would remember.

This message is both a comfort and a challenge. Life will bring seasons of chaos — times when the pressure to compromise is enormous, and the cost of faithfulness feels very real. But God does not leave His people empty-handed in those seasons. He equips them. He goes before them. And He sees everything done in faith, even when no one else does. Shiphrah and Puah are proof that when you fear God more than you fear what is in front of you, you are never without what you need.

🎥 If you are in a season that feels overwhelming — where the pressure to give in is louder than the peace you are trying to hold on to — this message was preached for a moment exactly like yours. Watch the full sermon to see how God equips ordinary people to do extraordinary things in the chaos, and strengthen your walk this week.
