Welcome to First Baptist Church of Bunche Park
A Place to Belong, Believe and Become.
Current Week's Sermon
Scripture: Amos 7:14-15
Sermon Title: A Simple Man Called by a Divine God
In this week’s message, When Silence Is Not an Option, Reverend Benny L. Everett III reminded us that faith is never passive. Rooted in Proverbs 31:8–9, we were called to see that God’s people are entrusted with a holy responsibility: to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Silence may feel safer, but Scripture teaches that love requires courage, and courage requires voice. When we lift our words in truth and compassion, we reflect the heart of Christ, who always moved toward the vulnerable with justice and mercy.
Reverend Everett encouraged us to recognize the places in our lives where God is urging us to stand up, step forward, and speak out. Whether it’s advocating for someone overlooked, addressing a wrong that has gone unchallenged, or offering support to a hurting neighbor, our voice becomes an instrument of God’s healing. This week’s message reminded us that faithful discipleship is active, intentional, and deeply rooted in God’s call to defend the oppressed.
🎥 Watch this week’s sermon to hear how God equips ordinary people to speak with courage, compassion, and conviction…and strengthen your walk this week.
