Title: When God Shows Up Differently
Scripture: Zechariah 9:9–12
Zechariah 9:9–12 reminds us that God’s arrival does not always look the way we expect. Sometimes He comes quietly, humbly, and in ways that challenge our assumptions about how deliverance should appear. This week’s message, “When God Shows Up Differently,” invited us to slow down and recognize the gentle, peace‑bringing presence of the Lord even in seasons that feel unsettled or unfamiliar. God’s faithfulness is not diminished when His methods shift; instead, His unexpected approach often becomes the doorway to deeper trust.
The prophet’s words call us to return to hope, even when life feels like a holding place. God meets us in our waiting, restores what felt lost, and reveals His strength through compassion rather than force. When He shows up differently, He is still showing up — still redeeming, still guiding, still lifting His people into a future anchored in His promises.

Meet our Senior Pastor
Reverend Benny L. Everett III, MDiv., B.S., is the esteemed pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bunche Park in Miami Gardens, Florida. A native of Pahokee, Florida, he is married to Dr. DeAnna Williams-Everett, and they have six children.
Reverend Everett began preaching at the age of eighteen and has been guided by influential mentors throughout his journey. Before his current role, he served as Senior Pastor at various churches in Florida and South Carolina.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from South Carolina State University, and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University.
Reverend Everett's achievements include serving as a former Commissioner for the City of Pahokee and founding the Glades Area NAACP Youth/College Division. He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Despite his many accolades, his most incredible honor is his call to ministry. Reverend Everett passionately preaches and teaches the Word of God, aiming to be a prophetic problem solver and share the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ.
