Title: Session 4: Do Your Appointed Part
Scripture: Nehemiah 7:1-7 (NIV)
Summary:
In this week’s session, we explored the vital truth that God uses each of His people to accomplish His purposes. Drawing from Nehemiah 7:1-7, we were reminded that rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall was only the beginning—the greater challenge was rebuilding the community of faith within it.
Nehemiah’s example shows that every believer has a role to play. He appointed gatekeepers, singers, and Levites to ensure that the city was both secure and spiritually strong. Leadership required integrity and wisdom, and Nehemiah’s careful planning provided stability for the people’s future. Through teamwork, worship, and teaching, God’s people were called to work together for the good of the entire community.
The lesson invites reflection on our own “unfinished walls.” Are we faithfully rebuilding in areas like prayer, outreach, discipleship, stewardship, and unity? Just as Nehemiah called God’s people to repopulate and revive Jerusalem, we are called to strengthen our church by serving where God has gifted us.
Key Thought: Every believer has a place, a purpose, and a part in God’s Kingdom work. When we do our appointed part together, the walls of faith, fellowship, and mission stand strong.
