They told me, “I need to know Him for myself.” Their words echoed the question Jesus asked His disciples in Matthew 16:15: “But what about you? Who do you say I am?”This moment in Scripture is deeply personal. Jesus begins by asking what people say about Him, but He doesn’t stay there. He turns the question toward His disciples, inviting them into a revelation that cannot be borrowed. Peter’s answer—“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God”—wasn’t learned from public opinion. It was revealed by the Father. This teaches us that true faith is discovered, not inherited. It grows as God opens our eyes to who Jesus truly is.When Jesus becomes personal, everything changes. He becomes more than a name we’ve heard or a story we’ve been told. He becomes our peace in uncertainty, our strength in weakness, our anchor in shifting seasons. And as that revelation deepens, God builds our lives on a foundation that cannot be shaken. Jesus told Peter, “On this rock I will build my church,” reminding us that God builds on revealed truth—not secondhand belief.“Faith becomes unshakable when you know Jesus for yourself.”So how do we lean into this personal revelation?1. Ask God to show you who Jesus is. He delights in revealing Himself to those who seek Him.2. Spend time in Scripture with an open heart. He wants to be known by you—not just understood, not just admired, but known. We are grateful to announce the official launch of the Seeds of Love Ministry and the groundbreaking of our First Baptist Church of Bunche Park Church Garden — a space we pray will become a living expression of faith, fellowship, service, and hope.For many months, God has been stirring a vision within our congregation: a place where hands can work together, hearts can grow together, and our community can gather around something life‑giving and meaningful. This morning, that vision begins to take root.A Ministry Rooted in Purpose The Seeds of Love Ministry was created to reflect three core truths:Planted in Faith — We trust God to bring growth in every season. Grown in Love — We serve one another with compassion and unity. Shared in Hope — We extend God’s goodness beyond our walls and into our community.This garden will be more than soil and seeds. It will be a place where relationships deepen, where families serve together, where children learn, and where our church continues to shine as a beacon of hope in Bunche Park.Groundbreaking Day: A First Step Toward Something Beautiful This morning at 6:00 a.m., our church family gathered to prepare the ground for what we believe will become a blessing for years to come. Maybe it’s a routine that once felt comforting but now feels limiting, or a mindset that once protected us but now keeps us from growing. I remember sitting in my living room one evening, looking at a stack of unfinished plans; I kept promising myself I would start “soon.” It wasn’t that I lacked desire—it was that I had become comfortable staying still. That night, I sensed God whispering, “It’s time to move.”Deuteronomy 1:6–8 captures a similar moment for Israel. After dwelling at the mountain, God tells them they have stayed long enough. It wasn’t a rebuke—it was an invitation. God had a land prepared for them, a future shaped by His promise. But stepping into that future required movement. It required trust. It required the courage to leave familiar ground.“God’s call to move is always connected to His promise to lead.”This passage teaches us that new seasons begin not with our strength but with God’s direction. When He says it is time to rise, it means He has already gone ahead. The land He calls us to enter—whether spiritual, emotional, or practical—is never uncharted to Him. After witnessing God’s power on Mount Carmel, he expected a sweeping change in Israel. Instead, fear drove him into a cave, unsure of what God was doing. Yet it was there—in the stillness—that God met him, not in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a gentle whisper that carried both comfort and direction. “God’s quiet voice often carries the clearest instructions.”God didn’t scold Elijah for feeling overwhelmed. Instead, He gave him a new assignment—anointing Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha. Elijah’s expectations had collapsed, but God’s plan was still moving. The redirection wasn’t a punishment; it was an invitation to trust God’s larger story.When our expectations fall apart, we can take three practical steps:<ol><li>Pause and listen. His invitation in Isaiah 55 is not harsh—it is hopeful. He calls us to listen, to incline our ear toward Him, and to receive what is good. His restoration is not shallow or temporary. It reaches the deep places where disappointment, fear, and quiet weariness have settled.So how do we step into this healing? First, acknowledge the truth of where you are. Naming your emptiness is not weakness—it is the doorway to renewal. Second, bring that honesty before God in prayer, trusting that He meets you with compassion, not judgment. Third, choose what nourishes your spirit: Scripture, rest, community, and practices that strengthen rather than drain. Finally, allow God’s voice to guide you toward what truly satisfies, even if it means letting go of habits that once felt comfortable.As you move through this week, remember that God is not asking you to be perfect—He is inviting you to be truthful. When you stop pretending everything is okay, you make room for the healing your heart has been longing for. Honesty opens the door, and God faithfully walks through it with you.
